DANFOS MAKERS OF ELECTROMECHANICAL LOAD LIMITERS SINCE 1980

It was the end of the 1970s when Daniele Fossà came across a mechanical load limiter from Northern Europe, one of the first rudimentary devices for controlling overloads on lifting systems, designed for the purpose of preventing accidents in the workplace and to maintain the efficiency of the equipment. The object immediately captured his interest, not only because of the originality of the idea but also because the growing concern towards accidents at work made it possible to foresee an important development in the years to come.

Following a detailed examination, Fossà found the limiter to be rather crude and, from certain perspectives, downright unreliable. He therefore decided he would create an object that served the same purpose but that would be highly efficient and provide maximum safety. And so it was that he designed a very original device, perfected down to the finest functional detail and the materials used:
the Danfos load limiter was launched, for which the first patent was registered in 1980.
